Re: bagged and bodied burban on 22"s

got the fuel tank back in. I raise it up almost 4" just to make sure that it doesn't hit the ground. it is now higher than the body panels
Image

sectioned the exhaust y-pipe to tuck it up so it doesn't hit the ground when layed out
Image

tranny cross member bolts were on the bottom of the frame, so I reamed the holes out, welded a plate in the frame channel, and made the bolts recessed into the frame so that they do not hold it up from laying flat
Image

cut the floor and made a tunnel for the drive shaft

Re: bagged and bodied burban on 22"s

finished welding in the rear floor. I cut a hole above the fuel tank and will cover it with a removable panel. that way if I ever need to get to the fuel pump, I can do it from above instead of having to drop the tank. its in primer and most of the seam seal is layed down in these pics.

all seam sealed and painted up. the carpet doesn't even come close to fitting so im just gonna run it like this for the time being

Re: bagged and bodied burban on 22"s

started to put the front suspension back together and wanted to make sure there were no problems or anything hitting the wheels and I found that the drivers side front tire hit the wiring harness when the burban was layed out. I cut out the mounting hole for the wire harness and moved it up a little more that 1", moved it over about 2.5", and recessed it into the firewall 1" just to make sure I had plenty of clearance.
Image

front tire tucks up nice with plenty of clearance now
Image

front bags installed. its a tight squeeze but I have plenty of clearance all the way around the bag
Image

rear bags installed. I made a removable panel infront of each bag just incase I ever have to get back in there to work on them.

Re: bagged and bodied burban on 22"s

some pics of the new gas cap location. because of the body drop and raising the fuel tank up, the stock fuel door was no longer usable since the fill tube would now be going uphill if I tried to reinstall it there. to fix this I relocated the gas cap behind the drivers side tail light. I don't really care for the tail lights but they were on there when I bought the burban so they will do for now. will probably replace them with a stock set later

tail light closed

tail light opened for fuel

Re: bagged and bodied burban on 22"s

time for the exhaust. I couldn't see any good way to run the exhaust and get it past the rear axle, the 2 link, and the bags, so I ran it the only way I could see to do it. I ended up cutting a 4" hole in the frame, welded in a 4" pipe, then boxed the frame where the pipe passed thru. then I ran the exhaust thru the frame
Image

I then ran it back between the frame and the rocker
Image

then I dumped it out infront of the passengers side rear tire
