Re: bagging a 80's suburban questions

heres some of the obsticles on bagging a square body burb
Z the front or dropmember
controil arms bind up
drop spindles,bags, shocks
steering shaft has to be modified, new shaft, ujoints and support bearing
loose the mechanicial fan
new tranny crossmember
carrier bearing spaced
crossmember needs to be notched
2 body mounts are in the way of the rear notch
i'm using a 4 link and watts set up
gastank needs to be raised along with the floor or a 20 gallon fuel cell
tunnel for the driveshaft, tub the back, notch cover if not raising the floor
re route brake and fuel lines
gonna need exhaust work
plumming, eletricial, find a place for tank and compressors valves, airline
mod the quater interior trim panels

Im sure i left some out, and i made it sound easier than it really is but this should get you laying frame on a 30 inch OD tire. if using a drop member youll also need a steering rack, PS hoses ,notch the frame for tire rods, have a swaybar made. Definately not for the novice builder. Hope this takes some of the mistery out of it.

I think the frame rail and the rocker pinch are even, or extremly close.
Build it don't buy it

You dont pull the quater glass out with all that cutting welding and grinding? May be thats just me doing body work for 20 years now, better to be safe than sorry pitting glass, about $200 a side to replace. And their only held in with old school gaskets not window urethane so they pop right out. And on mine the gaskets are cracking and need to be replaced any way. 2nd row seats and carpet have to be pulled out too to make the tranny tunnel under the seats. Didnt mean my reply to be a test of knowledge just what im doing with my burb.
