How many mpg do you get with the dmax when not towing? I know the cummins will get 24 on the highway.

19-22ish I dont normally calc it when im not loaded anymore. In fact since I have put the exhaust/intake on ive never calced it unloaded. I also drive pretty fast, 80+ typically if I drove 65 im sure my MPG would be even better.

i bought my d max because it has more interior room then the dodge did at the time ( then dodge came out with the mega cab) bastards... also the tranny... i have an LB7 which is the first duramax.. pros of that motor no catilitic converter from factory.. cons of the LB7 motor... runs crapy on utra low sulfur diesel(ULSD).. if you flip through other posts i just put a post in about a race of a life time.. that i ran a cummins diesel.. i had over 2000 lbs of stone in the bed and he had nothing and he couldnt hang.. i also posted that i gave a corvette a very hard time in level 5 of the programmer( i didnt beat him but) i stayed right with him till i hit 100 mph... jeff said he just had problems with his injectors. that is the most common problem with the duramax..and yes it is expensive if its out of warrenty... i think the number they raised the injector warrenty to is 200,000 miles.. but it was only for certian years.. i was luck that i just hit 98,000 miles on my 04 and the only problem i had was a CPU replacement early on.. and one limp mode on the tranny...

also i got 26 mpg all highway driving running 75 in cruise.. no load.. using a full tank of B20 bio diesel

and fuel filters should be changed every 5,000 miles with no fuel additives or 10,000 miles with fuel additives..

I wanted the cummins because of torque. 610ft. lbs. of torque from the factory. With a tuner adds another 250 to 350ft lbs of torque. That is over 800. :jig: I think I am going to go with the d-max because the truck as a whole seems like it would last longer.

Dmaxes have that much torque too pimp. If memory severs its 590 for 04 and 610 or 615 for 05's I cant remember.
